Introduction

Education is meaningless without learning. The main aim of education is to learn different concepts daily and apply them in daily life. It is a lifelong process, and it must be an ongoing process. Although learning is a concept of understanding new things and getting more informed. This objective could be achieved through any means, but Tutors are the most important source of Learning.

Tutors act as mentors to the students. They could learn about the strength and weaknesses of an individual and could assist them accordingly. Learning is a difficult process without Tutors, because there are instances when students do not understand the concept and are failed to get accustomed to different things. This makes the need of Tutor utmost important. Tutors provide structured process of learning to the students according to the curriculum of a particular school. There is another form of tutoring which allows the Tutor the freedom to teach in his or her own way that is best suited for an individual. Tutors use conversation, discussion, lectures and slide to teach and assist students.

In the recent past, many techniques have been developed to carry out the responsibility of tutoring, and Strategic Tutoring is one of them. In this paper, we will discuss the benefits of Strategic Tutoring as a means to effectively educate students (Schon, 1987)

Tutoring

This is the system and method used to give instructions to the students, formed by the body of knowledge, principles and ideas. Tutoring involves the interaction of three elements: the Tutor, the pupil or student, and the object of knowledge. Encyclopedist tradition assumes that the Tutor is the source of knowledge and the student simply receive this information regularly. Under this view, teaching is the transmission of knowledge from Tutor to student through various media and techniques.

However, as per current trends, the Tutor is only a facilitator of knowledge to the student, when tutor assist students when required. It helps students to gain wide knowledge about a subject, which is the source of great knowledge for students. The role of tutors is very important as students require assistance from tutors. It is a very difficult task to learn concepts without assistance from tutors. Hence, the role of tutors plays a significant role in the learning and development of a student (Scheerens, J. & Thomas, 2003).

Tutoring acts as the source for the transmission of knowledge and is based on perception, mainly through speaking and writing. Teaching, support and technical texts for participation and discussion among students, are some specific ways in which the teaching process. With scientific progress, education has incorporated new technologies to assist learning. Tutors use various channels to transmit knowledge, such as video and Internet. Technology has also enhanced distance learning and interaction beyond sharing information at the same physical space.
