The headquarters of General Motors is in Detroit, Michigan. Some 202,000 employees are on the payroll of this organization (Mandery, 2005).

General Motors (GM) is mainly associated in the development, manufacturing, planning and marketing of vehicles worldwide. The company and its strategic partners manufacture vehicles in 31 countries. In FY2010, GM produced 8,714,000 automobile under the brands, including Buick, Jiefang, Opel, Vauxhall and Wuling. GM's operates in more than 120 countries worldwide. Substantially all of GM's cars, trucks and their different parts are marketed through large number of dealers in North America. As of December 2010, the company operated 20,215 authorized dealerships, including around 4,450 automobile dealers in the US, more than 460 in Canada and around 240 in Mexico and other Central American locations.
