Introduction

The play Tartuffe, has written by Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, and in 1964, this play performed in the theatres. In 1960s, the comedy took place in Paris when the gullible people became easily fooled by the hypo critic character of Tartuffe (Mooney, 2005). This play revolves around the Tartuffe character who pretended to be the pious man, but in reality, he was not. This play faced controversy by the religious extremist groups, because these groups think that the character of Tartuffe is debasing them.
