Task 1 & 2

Task 1

Why the learning plan is needed

There are many reasons for which a learning plan may be required. The first and foremost reason is planning of career and its development. If it is felt that the advances need to be made in terms of career and more improvement is required in one's field than the individual will get considered for the learning plan. If it is felt that training and monitoring is required at the job then a learning plan might be developed to assess whether the new training is being incorporated into the job routine or not. There are formal and informal learning programs. Sometimes, informal training might be given if there is no dire need for formal training. This not only instills in employees the benefits that are to be reaped from training, but also keeps the environment light and nobody feels the pressure of a formal training (Trilling & Fadel, 2009).

There can be types of supervision that is provided for training which include provision of training inside the company or department or taking the participants somewhere else for the purpose of giving them training. At times, trainings are provided as a part of performance appraisals. This keeps the employees on track and encourages them to perform better at the workplace. It is pertinent to recognize the efforts and skills of employees at the workplace because if their hard work would not be recognized and they would not be praised for it, there are likely to feel de-motivated and stop working for attainment of their goals. Trainings are also provided for the individual's personal growth and grooming, and once the individual grows as a person, it also gives a chance to the company to grow as a whole. Not only that, trainings might be required because they give an opportunity to gain work experience. They also help in evaluating the skills employees bring into use at the work place (Trilling & Fadel, 2009).

Ideas to encourage individual to self evaluate their performance

The best way for individuals to have a self assessment of their performance is to conduct a questionnaire survey which includes questions related to the training and skills they have acquired. For this reason, a Training and Development Survey will be developed for the Call Centre team to fill.
