Factors Involve in Planning the Monitoring and Assessment of Work Performance

Assessment is a process to measure the performance of the worker, in order to reach the objective decision making on human resources. Modern organizations use evaluation of workers for wage increases, training and development needs and provide documentation to support the actions of staff turnover. Consequently, a well managed assessment serves as a tool for monitoring and staff development (Selvarajan & Cloninger, 2009, pp.398-412).

These criteria may include quality of work, efficiency of work, job knowledge, communication skills with other employees, dependability, initiative and assumption of responsibility, job attitude, actively promote safety and health, and punctuality/ attendance.

Planning the monitoring and assessment of work performance necessitates top management input and time, along with the commitment. The key significant assessment of work performance is to give feedback regarding what the workforce has learned in an effective manner and yet need to learn. Moreover, while planning for monitoring and assessment of work performance it is essential to link this process with employee motivation.
