This study utilised a census approach to examine environmental journalists in four districts of the joined States. A traverse all four regions, these reporters expended much of their time covering non-environment stories. They relied more often on localized and state causes than on nationwide causes and used a kind of article frames and angles to assemble their reporting. In considering barriers to reporting, they were more expected to cite such matters as time constraints or the size of the news aperture rather than interference by reviewers or advertisers. Most sensed the need to remain target, declining calls for advocacy or a civic-journalism approach. The study discovered more similarities across the regions than differences, suggesting that there is a nationwide norm for covering the natural environment.
