Terrorism has severely affected the American idea of justice overall. American idea of justice was strong even before the horrible incident of 11th September but after it laws have been more restricted. The criminal justice system was revived and laws and regulations were restricted very much. The word 'justice' became very popular especially after the attacks of the 11th September. War Crimes and International Law changed. Law enforcement became much aware and many new changes came in front of the world.

In my opinion, the terrorism has changed the American idea of justice severely. Most of the changes that have occurred are in the rules and regulations. The definition by the State Department has more importance in relation to law enforcement after the September 11, 2001 attacks, as terrorism has extended the law enforcement role to many areas including premeditated crimes and those stemming from political motives sourced from any of the sub-national groups or clandestine and anti-state agents. Presently, the U.S. police force is granted a greater degree of surveillance powers in reaction to possible threats of crimes of all nature, including drugs and terrorism.

Several changes have been provoked after the 9/11. The changes that have been provoked after the 9/11 are precautionary. These changes have both positive and negative impacts but these changes are beneficial as well as necessary for the country. Changes may be little bit negative because laws have become strict but they are very positive and necessary for the country and its people security. After nine years of 9/11, it is the system that was established to protect the United States so complicated that we do not know the extent of its effectiveness.
