Thesis Statement

Terrorism is usually the weapon of the weak that lacks the conventional powers of military. The problem of terrorism is so complex that no single solution or study could remedy the global problem of terrorism.

Introduction

Terrorism has been one of the primary problems and concerns of the people around the world for decades. One of the most important motives for the expected future terrorism is the reasons behind today's terrorism. Today, not only do most of the problems behind terrorism remain unsolved, but also most of those problems have not ever been studied at all. Usually the governments and agencies focus on the current threats of terrorism with short term resolutions. Unfortunately, most of the strategies to fight against terrorism lack long-term solutions, such as trying to find out the root causes of terrorism and going after those causes in order to eliminate the justifications of terrorist organizations. Therefore, it is obvious that it is almost impossible to conquer the large network without going after the causes of terrorism first.

Human Life

It is obvious and proven that terrorism can claim significant amount of human life and can also cause considerable amount of destruction. Unfortunately, terrorists have been very successful in attacking at unexpected times at unprepared civilians or officials which has resulted in enormous causalities both in terms of human life and the destruction of facilities.

Publicity

These relentless attacks on innocent human life at unexpected times have made terrorists very successful in attracting the publicity, which is an extremely important tool for the terrorists in propagandizing themselves whether to justify their violence or to find new recruits for their groups or to force quick change in governments. Evidently, this publicity encourages the terrorists for additional future attacks.

Modern technology has helped and publicity rise very quickly with the utilization of widespread use of the internet and rapid communication networks throughout the world. This technology will no doubt continue to improve and continue to aid terrorists in spreading their message. As a matter of fact, our world is now considered a small global village where communication is very instant and easy. As a result, terrorism enjoyed the information age quite extensively as it became the very best propaganda tool for the terrorists.

Ease of Destruction

Terrorist attacks have also interrupted many public services and destroyed many infrastructures. As a rule, destruction is always easy. It takes less time and costs less money than building the same infrastructure, especially if it is carried out by the terrorists. This destruction and interruption allowed the terrorists to enjoy their activities at the highest level and by seeing their success; they sought new ways for destruction. On the other hand, it took months or years for the governments to rebuild or to fix the attacked facilities or to continue to the public services.
