Generating Textures on Arbitrary Surfaces Using Reaction-Diffusion

The article discusses describes biologically motivated method of texture synthesis called reaction-diffusion and demonstrates how these textures can be obtained in a manner that corresponds directly to the surface geometry. Reaction-diffusion process in which two or more chemicals diffuse at unequal rates at the surface and react with each other to form stable patterns such as spots and stripes.
