Introduction

The Cold War was the political tension that existed between the two former Super Powers of the International community: United States and Soviet Union. Because of the policies the two super powers adopted for the quest of supremacy the cold war extended to majority of the nations. The deep rooted and profound political economical and social consideration between U.S and Soviet Union, led the United States to instigate the diplomatic policies in order to achieve supremacy over Soviet Union (Gaddis, 2005). To prevent the social influence of Soviet Union from getting augmented, the United States under President Reagan (1981-1989) drafted out certain doctrines.
