Bullying is not a new phenomenon. It is also widely used in schools, and it should not be confused with short-term conflicts, arguments, aggressive confrontations or exclusion among children and adults. Bullying can affect a range of situations such as:

As a teacher speaks disparagingly to the class about a student because they do not come along again or ill.

Or classmates whispering, giggling or drop the insulting comments, if a particular student has its say.

Since girls tease in a 7th Class a foreign classmate because of their appearance and their bad language.

As a boy lurking fourth Class extort a shy, skinny little fellow students to and from school and on him money or clothes.

Since a mother is marginalized to parents' meetings with mocking glances from other parents and the teacher (Fleming & Jacobsen, 2010).

Impact

First, bullying effect and impact on the life of the student is very much devastating and this is often over long periods. Rarely, a student informs a teacher or his/her parents what happened every day. The consequences affect the whole personality: On the loss of self-confidence (not only in the power range) can come with sleep deficiency, mental restlessness and concentration problems. By the perceived isolation and loneliness develop depressive tendencies and passivity. The following areas may be affected in the result of the bullying:

Physical damage (injury)

Psychological injuries (e.g., destruction of self-consciousness)

Psychosomatic reactions (e.g., anorexia, abdominal pain, nightmares, insomnia)

Other reactions (e.g., lack of concentration, decrease in performance, absenteeism due to "sick days" or truancy, withdrawal from social relationships, anxiety, depression, to suicide attempts or suicide consummated)

Basically, bullying is not an individual problem of the victim or perpetrator, but a structural group phenomenon that has escalated because there were no adequate and timely interventions. However, seem certain personality traits of bullying victims promote: Students may be affected, are anxious or adapted and have low self-esteem (Lund, et. al., 2009). Also striking or otherwise-like appearance, clumsiness, helplessness or low frustration tolerance can predestine it. Sometimes potential victims come from families with sensitive emphasizes violent behavior standards, or it encounters students who go especially good faith and trust in their classmates. Ultimately, they do not have the necessary social skill to the attacks of the perpetrator alone to face.
