The Genesis Gap Theory

The origin of the Genesis Gap Theory is not astonishing at all. It originated in the year 1814; it was the time, when geologists were beginning to explore the age of the pre-human civilization, and were staring to elucidate the geological formations of the planet. This theory was born in the mind of Dr. Thomas Chalmers, who was the head of the Old Testament Studies at the University of Edinburgh. He confessed that he had a feeling that he required an assumption to make a negotiation between the assertion of the evidence of God's creation in Genesis and the non-biblical geologists. The theory presented by Dr. Chalmers' was gradually modified and promoted by many scholars even, and this theory made the loudest thump when The Schofield Reference Bible of 1917 used the Genesis supposition in the footnotes on Genesis 1:1-2. However, when the brilliant light of the syntax and grammar of the Genesis shined on the Gap Theory, it presents the theory as an imaginary concept. This theory presents itself to be an unbiblical, unattractive concession to maximize the age of the planet and bring the formation theory in line with present, earthly discipline. (Phelan 2005. Pp. 45)

Genesis 1:1, one can discover the evidence that the sacred character that was given to Moses for the documentation for all humans. In the starting phase, God developed the earth & heavens. With this, began the revelation of God for mankind and clarification of how the planet came to being. This is exactly what God says He did. The rest of the chapter of the Genesis provide additional information about the said declaration. Unfortunately, man is not satisfied with God's account of creation. Consequently, he has provided his own concepts about what may have occurred during the time the planet was created. (Number 1993. Pp.58)

The theory broadened so extensively that many people wanted to maintain their faith in the Bible and at the same time cling on to a few teachings of the theory of development. Specially, a few people wanted to make room in the Bible for immense amounts of time that is the requirement of the theory of evolution, i.e. Genesis theory. Consequently, some people have a faith in the thing, which is known as the Gap Theory. This presumption essentially takes into consideration the years that the evolutionists required and places them in the Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. In the starting, God produced the heavens and the earth. The planet earth was without any shape, and annulled; and the dimness was on the countenance of the bottomless. (Moore 2002. Pp. 71) However, the character of God was balanced over the face of the waters.  The people, who had faith in this theory, were not content with the writing of God, and they wanted to redraft these verses. This speculation allegedly permits a man to maintain that he has faith on the Bible and at the same time, still hold onto the theory of evolution.

We should confess that there are many different views relating to this theory. Nevertheless, the founding concept is that, after the first verse, the planet earth was in perfect shape. For a short time before the verse two, a few immense events happened which ruined the planet. This thing is normally seen as a fight between Satan and God. The remaining part of the chapter one of Genesis is then seen as leisure, or the remaking of the original conception. The people who suggested this theory identified the numerous issues associated with it because a few of those have already been adjusted, and they have come with the modifed Gap Theory and the manifold Gap Theory, neither of which is close to the Bible than the original Gap Theory. (Alters 2001. Pp. 81)

There are numerous problems with this theory be sure. Nevertheless, the major issue with this theory is that it does not have the same opinion as the Bible, when the Bible explains what occurred during the development of the planet. The Bible has an opinion that God produced the earth in a period of six exact days, Exodus 20:11. This does not permit for billions of years, or even a year, for the difference between the first and the second verse of Genesis 1. The Exodus 20:11 also say that God produced the earth, heaven, sea, and all the things in six days. (Scott 2003. Pp. 282) This thing does not permit for anything else to be produced at a time other than this.  Towards the finish of the first Genesis, God sees that the whole lot that He has produced is very good.  An apostle of Jesus Christ, Paul, was stimulated by the Holy Spirit to describe that Adam was the first person on earth and the fact that death entered the earth through Adam because of the sin he committed related to the Tree of information of Good and wickedness. The Gap Theory has a requirement that humans have exist before the advent of Adam and death was introduced through these men this thing contradicts the sayings of the Bible.

Some of the people who have a faith in the Gap Theory make anm effort to make a difference between the two Hebrew terms that have been used in the description of the creation of the ...
