The Mending Wall

Robert Lee Frost was a poet of American origin. Robert Frost has been highly respected for his naturalistic depictions of the rural life, and because of his mastery over the use of conversational speech in America. In this poem, Robert Frost in his typical way discussed the human nature, i.e. we keep asking others to do a certain work, and if the other person fails to comply with what we are saying, we get angry and declare him/her as stubborn. At these times, we fail to realize that we are being stubborn by constantly asking the other person to change his/her views, while we are not changing our views neither are we changing our views. Then as a typical style of Robert Frost, he has also discussed the concept of nature in his work also.

If we take the word mending as an adjective, the word would indicate that the wall is playing a much more delicate role, as a mending wall, it is playing a part in maintaining good relationship in between the two neighbors. However, as the examination and the analysis of the poem would show, Frost has maintained a very wry sort of space between the storyteller and himself, because this poem has brought out a very broad comprehension of the issues that have been discussed in the poem (Bloom, 12).

Like the majority of his poems, Frost has written the poem Mending Wall in the dialect form of speech of New England i.e. a terse, and occasionally they have cropped slang, which has been done by Robert frost to make sure that every reader would understand the concept and the theme of his poem in a proper way. For instance, in the poem, Frost has used the ...
