Introduction

Since 1939, this inspirational movie has been a true staple as a teacher when the Kleenex sale was boosted throughout the country. Since that era, people have been treated on the theme to numerous variations such as “Dead Poet's Society”, “the Blackboard Jungle” and the “Music of the Heart”. After so many fabulous movies, now HBO convey a wonderful movie to us known as “Cheaters”, which is based on a twisted comic on a genre that is focusing on the story of an inspirational teacher clearly. The movie is basically based on the true events which were held in 1994 and was about the Academic Decathlon of a national high school of Illinois state where the knowledge gaining was consisted on speeches, subject tests, interviews, and essays. Gerald Plecki, a teacher at the Steinmetz High school, who voluntarily with his own willingness became an immediate coach to the entire school's team in spite of knowing the fact that the rival Whitney Young has already won 9 years consecutively and still trying to do that again. Although, the team mates of the Steinmetz were brilliant and fully willing to study for extra hours as well as they simply could not be able to compete with the extended resources of Whitney Young's team which were better funded in all perspectives. And for that reason, they urged to do some acts of cheating in order to win the national competition.

Discussion

Students of the Steinmetz High School were least enthusiastic about study or about any class room activity except the Jolie Fitch. He was a junior student but always used to enjoy the English class of Dr. Jerry Plecki's. Not only this, but he was heavily involved in all class room discussions as well especially when it was about reading his favorite book known as “Paradise Lost”. Dr. Plecki was not just a teacher but was also offered by the position of an Academic Decathlon coach which is a post that is considered as a totally wastage of time for not only teachers but for students as well. One day after the class, Dr. Plecki called openly all the students but no one arrived to join him. After waiting so long when he was about to leave the class then Jolie came in and convinced Dr. Plecki for recruiting him as the smarter student for which Dr, Plecki was looking ...
