Overview of the Author

Robert I. Sutton was born on 1954 in Chicago. He is professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, an institution of Stanford University and one of the leading business schools in the United States. There, he worked in the department of management science, engineering and organizational behavior. In addition, he is internationally recognized as a consultant for many companies.

He takes innovation, connections and gaps between knowledge and action and organizations and recently wrote "assholes in the workplace." Academically he holds a BA (Bachelor of Arts) at Berkeley in 1977, his MA (Master of Arts) and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1981 and 1984 respectively.

Sutton received his Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Michigan and then worked at Stanford University since 1983. Sutton has published over 150 articles for publications such as the ' Harvard Business Review, Esquire magazine and others.

Purpose of Writing the Book

Robert Sutton was annoyed, which is already on the first page of the preface very much. He is annoyed with assholes, bullies, torturers, bastards, tyrants, despots and other bad people working, with whom he comes in contact. Sutton suggested that not only he but it always happen with everyone and hence as the readers of his book, everyone would feel the same.
