The Taj Mahal was enclosed by the Charbagh Garden, which was presented to India by the first Mughal emperor Babur. Babur opened his inspiration for the flower beds from the Persians. The flower bed was conceived as a rectangle and destined as a reflection of a perfect garden. The perimeter of the Taj Mahal was enclosed by partitions except for the edge opposite the river. Outside the perimeter of the Taj Mahal there were some other mausoleums and structures. Majority of the exterior organizations were constructed mainly out of red sandstone.
