The war

There's more than one clash fuming in The War, a lesson- laden parable from “the chief director of Fried Green Tomatoes,” Jon Avnet, set, one time over, in the countryside South.

 First there's the War-in Vietnam. It's 1970 and Stephen Simmons (Kevin Costner) has returned psychically and strongly injured, not able to retain a job and tormented by nightmares that have become as very apparent to his wife, Lois (Mare Winningham), and offspring, Lidia (Lexi Randall) and Stu (Elijah Wood), as the depiction of disfigurements on his chest.
