A major public health trend of the decade of 1990 was to focus on the health status and health-related quality of life outcomes.1, 2 work in the field of diabetes treatment and research during this time gave examples of this approach, 3 and much research has benefited, both directly and indirectly, many of these principles studies.4-6 is in the spirit of this approach in the health and quality of life, along with previous studies, which many current efforts to review, understand and develop interventions to promote the results of physical and psychological health are carried out. pediatric diabetes is no exception, with at least three full reports published since 2000 on the effectiveness of behavioral interventions designed to optimize health outcomes in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes diabetes.7-9

Hampson et al. 7 conducted a meta-analysis to determine that behavioral interventions are effective in promoting psychosocial, metabolic, self-management, diabetes knowledge and results. Northam et al.8 provide a comprehensive review of the literature on behavioral interventions for children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes in psychological and metabolic outcomes.
