LEADERSHIP THEORIESIntroduction

All the qualities of an employee or an ordinary individual must be analyzed in order to understand and facilitate the personality development of the individual, thereby molding him to show superior qualities in every respect. Here in this article, aiming towards leadership and business, and all those related to this circle's context shall be intended towards an in-depth orientation, a reserve area to discuss theories and show qualities of leadership accordingly.

Here, we have to consider two theories for discussion. One is the style theory, or more formally, the theory of situational leadership theory while the other's labeled Trait theory. The former theory was put forth by joint contributors, namely Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard, which covers an individual's style and attempt towards handling situations and circumstances around him, while the latter was put forth initially by Gordon Allport that attempts towards composing and comprehending the individual's in-built abilities and skills to understand all odds of occurrence in the atmosphere.

Trait Theory

Trait theory, as the title suggests, implies exactly how far and wide do the traits, or abilities, does the individual possess and is in control of. Traits are more formally defined as attributes, characteristics and features that distinctly categorize individual and help others identify differences amongst clusters of people.

Traits may be positive (broad-minded, lively, curious, intelligent, etc.) or be negative (anger management, high-strung, disdainful, relentlessness, self-important behavior, etc.) Towards the end of the twentieth century, researchers had reached the level of the leaders of scale by examining the characteristics of effective leaders they have tried to detect.

The work initially put forth by Allport implies that the preliminary work done most of the time so this theory was an injection; therefore this is generally called a focused approach to well-known historical figures that helps the mould leaders of men to determine their true and genuine representation.

In viewpoint of some people's perspective, the first set of trait representatives feature the classic characteristics shown by Officials of the State and Government. The gist of this theory is the natural born leaders make them features some of the people. An indefinite term, trait theory is used consistently in terms of personality, temperament, interests and skills, as well as see the physical and demographic characteristics. Leadership, in its first systematic attempts to analyze the features and traits of individuals was first conducted by Ralph Stogdill.
