Introduction

The discipline of International Relations aims principally to try to locate and adequately explain patterns for behavior between international actors in the world as they interact with each other. We believe in the behavior in all aspects of interest to a State, such as trade, diplomatic relations, the image to abroad, wars, etc. This goal is complicated and ambitious, and, therefore, there is no explanation that is accepted by all. Realism, or realism, is one of several explanations proposed by scholars of international relations. The objective of this study is to explain away the behavior of U.S. foreign policy, and consider the realism as the optimal choice for this purpose. In this first chapter focus on analyzing the realist theory, explain your characteristics and principles, we will compare with the ideal, other international relations theory, which likewise attempts to describe the international behavior of states and, finally, we will study the relationship of these two theories with foreign policy of the United States. Realism

While the realistic movement is coming to an end one of its avatars that will extend the time for a few years. The success of the Russian Revolution of October 1917 brought the first government communist power. The government wants proletarian literature and exalts that portrays the working class and its struggle to reverse the conditions that oppress them. Soon the Soviet socialist realism literary movement became the only admitted Soviet Union , all the others are accused of reactionary and bourgeois. The movement spread after the Second World War while the influence of the Soviet Union extends to the countries of Eastern Europe and his regime became a magnet across the country who seek to escape colonization. From a literary point of view, socialist realism was not a great success a different kind of politics and political norms state interest is the key unit of analysis. on institutions as the arenas within which conflict is mediated and contained; and a conception of politics as a sphere of activity that is distinct, autonomous, and subject to norms that cannot be derived from individual morality. For political realists, a 'well-ordered society' is rarely attainable; a modus Vivendi without agreement on first principles is often the only practical possibility. Not only will 'full compliance' to international norms never be achieved, but also it is an assumption that yields misleading accounts of political norms. Realists would not account for cooperation on the world stage as the product of a state giving up its interests in the name of international law or behavioral norms. Instead, actions are accounted for by looking at how a particular action serves state interests. While realists offer a number of compelling criticisms of ideal theory, are some gaps in their stance.
