China

Location

China is situated in eastern Asia, between North Korea and Vietnam. Its capital is Beijing. It is bordering the East China Sea, Korea Bay, Yellow Sea and South China Sea. It has Mongolia in its north, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in its north-west, Bhutan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Afghanistan in its west and south-west; and Vietnam, Myanmar and the Laos in its south.

Weather

China is the second largest country by geographical size. It has various rainfall and temperature zones. Summers are hot and rainy, whereas winters are cold and dry.

The average temperature throughout the year is 53 °F (11.8 °C).

In summers, the average high temperature is 88 °F (31 °C).

In winters average temperature is 14 °F (-10 °C) during January.

The wettest month is July receiving on average 9.6 inches (243 mm) of hail, rain or snowfalls across 13 days.

Best time to visit

April, May or September, October for a longer tour of more than three weeks length.

For a short tour, of about 10 days, November and early December or February and March is best suited. The weather may be cold, but it is always bearable during this time of the year and the hotel-prices are also low.

Hong Kong

Location

It is situated in eastern Asia, bordering South China Sea to the east, west and south, China in the north. It is one of the special administrative regions of People's Republic of China.

Weather

Hong Kong has four distinct weathers, with very humid summers and mild winters. Summers (June-Sept) are hot and are also typhoon season, with rainfall heaviest from May to September.

Best time to visit
