Discussion

The Novel 'Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea' has two major personalities Aronnax, and the antagonist, Captain Nemo. There was a conflict between these two personalities and that is the concept of freedom. Aronnax was very much in science and fiction, Aronnax does not like the way Captain Nemo used to attack innocent people and kill them in a reckless manner. Captain Nemo possesses a mystifying and suspicious personality; he has abhorrence for human beings because he was involved in corruption. “So it was a sad day I spent, between my wish to regain freedom and my regret at saying goodbye to the marvelous Nautilus” -Aronnax. (Verne, 15)
