The urban legend is at the limit of credibility. All events include fake, some take elements of reality in a true story. Therefore, the urban legend is usually counted as an event if true or at least plausible. This requires that the characters are mere archetypes anonymous, "a man", "a woman", "a couple" or "an acquaintance of a friend," which the narrator of the urban legend does not know personally, but always situated scenarios specific (a particular city, street, country) that contribute to make it believable. Often, the protagonist is a "friend of a friend," relatively close to the listener, but not so feasible to consult the facts. Over time, the elements of the narrative are transformed to make it more attractive and impressive.
