Introduction

Whose problem school hostility? The answer to this question is all ours. Just as it is a problem we all have to deal with, it is also a problem that we must all work to solve. Community, administrators, teachers, parents and students should get together and security in schools. Otherwise, the prevention and punishment will not be effective (Forcey 1999).

In March, the public was stunned by the news of the terrible boom of shooting in Red Lake, Minn., where 16-year-old Jeff Wiese killed seven people and wounded at least 13 people at Red Lake School before taking his own life - a deadly school shooting from Columbine in 1999 (Coloroso 2002).

In mid-April, the sexual assault of 16-year-old special education student by a group of boys in high school in Columbus, Ohio, where school officials tried desperately to keep secret for over a month, made headlines across the country. The director was fired and three assistant directors suspended without pay for failing to report an episode of police, one of the assailants at her video of it.

Only a few weeks later, the parents of 19 Philadelphia elementary school students were shocked to learn their children with a knife 8-year old classmate owns hypodermic needles, had to wait three hours before receiving medical care.
