objectives

The study contucted to understand maternal characteristics in Nova Scotia aspires to discover how preceptors understand, operationalize, article and educate person-centered care as they direct scholars inside an acute surgical environment(Deshayne 2009).

Background

Study was carried keeping various characteristics of mother such as age, parity, smoking, weight before pregnancy and weight gain during pregnancy have changed in many industrialized countries in recent years(Deshayne 2009).

Research question

Many of these changes have not been adequately described at population level. purpose of this study was to describe recent trends in selected maternal characteristics in Nova Scotia.

study design

In a population-based study more 127000 born in Nova Scotia, Canada, the regulator for maternal characteristics is the interim rate increase primary caesarean delivery between 1988 and 1991 and 1998-2000, 21% to 2% 2. A recent systematic review and meta-analysis of published research cohorts output caesarean delivery risk is increased by 50% of women and more than two times higher for obese women compared to women with normal BMI (3). Using national data on more than 580000 deliveries in Scotland between 1980 and 2005, Smith and others. reported that caesarean delivery rate among nulliparous women more than doubled, and the proportion of women aged 30-34 years has tripled, the proportion aged 35-39 years was seven times, and the proportion aged 40 years or more has increased tenfold. Simulations indicate that if the age distribution remained unchanged throughout the training period, 38% of the additional Caesarean deliveries could have been avoided. The authors concluded that the relationship between the increase in the age of the mother and the risk of caesarean section delivery may have biological roots. recognize these facts and take appropriate action.
