Introduction

Sports avenues, stadiums or arena are the areas enclosed with bleachers for spectators, for sports competitions. It is used for various types of outdoor sports that are popular worldwide as the football, the rugby, the baseball, etc. The stadiums are a very important influence on the economy of a country hosting all kinds of sporting events depending on the capacity they have. It consists of a large field surrounded by a structure designed to allow spectators to stand or sit watching the event. Since ancient times have always been part of the daily lives of people (Rein, et.al, 2006). The oldest known stadium in the world is located in Olympia, in the Peloponnese Western Greece, where the ancient Olympic Games were held for the first time in 776. C. The objective of this paper is to analyze the significant impact of newly designed vs. the old designed sports avenues and there impacts on the sports and spectatorship.

Old and new Sport Avenues

For the purpose of analyzing what significant changes have been made to the development of sport venues over the past 10-15 years, it is essential to have comparison between the newly designed and old stadiums from around the world. Therefore, I have selected the recently build Yankee stadium , which is the home of New York Yankees , the team of Major League Baseball in the United States and second sports avenue is the Old Trafford, which is the oldest football stadium located in the county of Greater Manchester, in England. Yankee Stadium is the baseball stadium of the New York Yankees. It is located in south of the Bronx in the city of New York. It was on the opened on 3rd April 2009 and replaced the old Yankee Stadium (Rein, et.al, 2006).

The architecture is based very heavily on the old stadium, the facade is like the old stadium with granite faced. The attached under the roof of the old stadium frieze of metal was used in the new stadium again. The interior of the stadium is full of photos that tell the history of the Yankees. Old Trafford is a football stadium located in the county of Greater Manchester, in England. It was built in 1909; it is the home of Manchester United and has the capacity of 76,212 spectators. Old Trafford, Wembley and Emirates Stadium are the only stadium in England to be evaluated by UEFA to the rank of five-star stadium (Kemp, 2009).

Significant changes in the development of sport venues

Professional sport around the world lives a promising time to building comfortable and modern stadiums, which have the potential to revitalize the industry. Leaving the romantic point of these great sports buildings, we can say without doubt that the stadium today is machine consumption and generating wealth for those who live on the stage and for who come every weekend.
