Introduction

“Who Moved My Cheese?” is a surprising way to deal with change at work and in the secret life, it was published in 1998, is a book of motivation written by Spencer Johnson in the style of a parable. It describes the change in work and life, and four typical reactions to said change with two mice and two "little people" and their search for cheese. “Who Moved My Cheese?” is a business bestseller in New York Times since the release. “Who Moved My Cheese?” remained on the list for almost five years and spent over two hundred weeks on the list of hardcover nonfictions of Publishers Weekly.

Spencer Johnson is the co-author of The One Minute Manager - the best known method of management of the world, and author of "Who Moved My Cheese?". After graduating in Psychology and Medicine in California, he practiced at Harvard Medical School. Subsequently, he held in responsible positions, in large companies, which involved in researching, disseminating scientific and medical and founded his own communications company. His books have sold more than 11 million copies and been translated into 21 languages (Spencer, 1998).

Story

The story begins by introducing the four characters of the fable: the mice, "Sniff" and "Scurry" and the Lilliputians "Hem" and "Haw" and his search for cheese in a maze that represents the real world. Daily they found their own cheese in Cheese Station. Every time they felt more comfortable and create their social life around there. Hem and Haw were so comfortable that they did not realize that the supply of cheese decreasing with each passing day.

One day the mice arrived at Cheese Station Q and found that there was no cheese. The mice themselves had noticed that each day they had less cheese and no change caught them by surprise. The Lilliputians were not prepared to find that there was no cheese. While, mice were swiftly reacted to the situation and started finding for extra cheese, the Lilliputians were still undecided, not knowing what to do. They went home hungry and discouraged. Hem was not interested in finding cheese while Haw suggested seeking some extra cheese, what Hem refused.

While Lilliputians were still undecided, mice were already looking for New Cheese in the maze until they finally arrived at Cheese Station N where they found a large supply of New Cheese. Meanwhile, Hem and Haw still went daily to Cheese Station Q and waited for something to happen. One day perhaps they thought that cheese might be behind the wall so, they opened a hole in the wall of Cheese Station Q but found no Cheese.

One day Haw understood the fact that they are looking to change, and they must look for cheese somewhere else. He started looking for cheese here and there; initially he found some cheese here and there. Until one day, he found New Cheese at Cheese Station N.
