Introduction

William Edward Burghardt Du Bois presents a very important and often ignored Africana culture, philosophy and history. He is one of the main dominant leaders from the late 19century and the early 20th century in the black community. He had different opinions about the views on improvement of economic and social standings only for blacks. He also had an aggressive strategy to resolves certain issues. Du Bois studied at the Berlin University and the University of Tennessee before he joined the University of Harvard.

He was also hired at the university as a researcher that was a low paying job that used a new discipline from sociology that focused on the factual observation in the field in order to the current situation of blacks during that time. This was the first study that was created in order to affect the urban lives of the black. Du Bois was usually described as the most honest “civil rights protester in the United States,” the undoubted, he was one of the undisputed intellectual leader of the new generation, also known as the central figure of the African-American. The Harlem Renaissance, inspiration of the literacy movement (Wortham, 2005).

Most of the influential works of Du Bois is his work on “the Souls of Black Folk” that is greatly read and respected all over. And because of this Du Bois was changed into a race leader, who discovered honesty, shrewdness, and artistic sophistication that existed in the black which was never visible before, with both scholarship and passion (Reuben, 2012).
