Textual analysis

In the first section of chapter # 6 , Author describes power curve (a) The cut in wind speed (vc). (b) The cut out wind speed (vf). (c) Rated wind speed (vr). (d) Survival speed

In part a he mentions that the wind speed has its cut The reason for this is that the wind speed varies continuously in practice and therefore it is the column of wind that passes through the rotor, cannot measure accurately.

In part b the cut out of the wind speed is being elaborated. Here the wind turbine is programmed in a such manner that if it reaches at a level that is above the 25 m/s, then automatically the wind turbine would shutdown. In part c the rated wind speed is perhaps the most important factor. In order to avoid it during a catastrophe, Wagner and Mathur (2009) states that the rated speed. This is to achieve the maximum efficiency. The level of power is achieved at a constant level according to the author. (Mathur, 2009) Survival speed. Here the author elaborates that apart from the above three factors there is another factor known as survival speed. Wagner and Mathur (2009)states that this is the speed or a minimum speed where the wind turbine would not be able to sustain in order for its survival.

Then in the next section the author discusses the capacity factor. Here Wagner and Mathur (2009) states that “Capacity factor is one element in measuring the productivity of a wind turbine or any other power production facility and to compare different locations with each other.” Here . Wagner and Mathur (2009) has given an analogy of the German power plant where in its controlling power plant its load duration is equivalent to the ...
