Introduction

Militarism in various forms of state-dominated world, and its core values, "power over others' affects a population that is beginning to take the suitability of violence as a means of resolving conflicts. Although the war and the military are considered "men's work," Armed Conflict and militarist ideology had a great impact on women worldwide. Gender analysis of militarism is important for both feminists and peace activists who are working towards a world free from all forms of violence, injustice and oppression.

Thesis Statement: Military value contribution to the construction of narrow definitions of masculine and feminine characteristics and should be addressed by feminists in search of an alternative society without rigid gender roles.

Patriarchy is one of the roots of militarism, because gender analysis is useful to peace activists to challenge the basic ideology of militarism, rather than just addressing its consequences. Role in Building Society Through Education

Teaching, like all occupations, has been organized, changed and framed by gender. It has been organized in a way that associates the teaching women do with low status and income, while the teaching men do garners more power and esteem. Women are more likely than men to teach younger children, to be in fields associated with women's work, and to have positions with little power or intellectual authority. While change has taken place in the number and kinds of teaching jobs that are available, and the global expansion of formal teaching jobs has opened opportunities for many women, teaching jobs have been continually reorganized and redefined so that women remain in low status positions relative to men. Women from lower social class and ethnic groups are the most disadvantaged by this dynamic. And the teaching women do has consistently been framed by images of femininity, described through maternal metaphors, and linked to social rather than intellectual tasks.

Understanding the patterns and politics of gender and teaching is important for understanding the organization of schools, colleges and universities; it is also important for understanding the history of gender. So many women have been teachers that what counts as female has been associated with teaching the young. As we look with the lens of the women's movement at the gendered hierarchies in teaching, we see a great deal about how gender works in society, and how it should be changed.

Why Gender Analysis?
