The two women that I have chosen for this paper are Florence Nightingale and Oprah Winfrey.

Biographical Information about the women

Florence Nightingale

Florence Nightingale, considered a pioneer in the practice of nursing, she is considered the mother of modern nursing and creator of the first conceptual model of nursing. Stressed at a young age in math, and then applying their knowledge of statistics to epidemiology and health statistics. It was the first woman admitted to the British Royal Statistical Society, and honorary member of the American Statistical Association. Florence rebelled against the prejudices of her era and against his fate of the woman who should stay home and chose the nursing profession, which until then had been discredited and reserved for the poor. Florence's greatest success was her participation in the Crimean War. Her report on the living conditions of wounded soldiers prompted Herbert to send in a Nightingale. On October 21, 1854 Florence Nightingale and a battalion comprised of 38 volunteer nurses was sent to Crimea. In Scutari, Nightingale and her co-workers renovated and cleaned the hospital despite the reaction of doctors and officers, and brought down the mortality rate from 40% to 2%. There, Florence Nightingale contracted Brucellosis, she spent the rest of her life to promote their profession; she founded a nursing school that bears his name (Shaddock, 1995).

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey known all over the world as the most influential person in the world. Oprah Gail Winfrey Oprah commonly called, born on 29 January 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She is a presenter and producer American television, literary critic and editor of magazines. She is best known for her talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show has won several awards and became the most watched program in television history until its final episode May 25, 2011. Oprah is also an actress she was nominated for Oscars. She was ranked personality Afro-American's richest personality in the twentieth century, and is the only billionaire black in the world. According to the magazine Forbes is the second capital of the entertainment industry. Furthermore, she is the chairman of Harpo group of companies. All the success that she has achieved makes her eligible for our leadership criteria. Oprah has three leadership styles: principles, transformative, and reflective.
