Introduction

In this digital age, productivity at work has become the single most important issue for an organization. An organization exists to maximize its profit. The organization can meet its targets only if the employees are working efficiently and there is no wastage of financial and human capital. Some organizations have an autocratic working environment in place, while others prefer to create a harmonious environment for its workers. Both the models work differently for the business entity as it entirely depends upon the management's ability to drive their workforce by aligning their goals with that of organization (Stranks 2005, p. 82).

In many instances, most of the employees feel stressed out at work because of being pressurized to meet unachievable deadlines. Apart from the emotional disorders, there is a worst side of this work-related stress, which is that it directly affects a person's mental capacity. This is classified as the stress that can lead to psychological illness (Cox, Griffiths & Rial-González 2000, p. 90). Because of the continuous work load, a person may suffer from chronic stress, which can result in impairment of the judgmental capacity in a person. This type of impairment because of the stress affects an employee's performance, which in turn can drastically affect overall organizational productivity (Williams & Cooper 2002, p. 35).

Research Method

In order to prove the theoretical aspect of the point that has been made in this article, the qualitative research method was used to collect the required data. The research had to be open-ended and exploratory so that the report could be based upon the professional viewpoint of workers facing problems at workplace. The interviewee, in this regard, was a manager from a pharmaceutical factory, who was hired as a management trainee and made it to managerial level in a few years. The interviewee from the managerial level was selected because he would know all forms of work-related stress that are faced by staff in the organizational hierarchy. Apart from the primary research, the secondary research is conducted to support the argument that has been made throughout the article about work-related stress. Different writers' work has been utilized to support the argument.

What are some possible effects of stress on worker's life?

Results

The results are extracted from the qualitative research conducted on the subject. In this regard, the interviewee was helpful in providing a realistic view of the practical scenario, whereas books were referred to explore the descriptive aspect of the problem and the research available on the subject. According to the interviewee, there are some causes behind the work-related stress that have long been identified but in the practicality there is nothing that is being done to address this huge problem at workplaces.
