Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to discuss the management of work place diversity at Xerox Corporation. Xerox Corporation is a printing company at U.S. and for the company pluralistic work place environment is considered to be beneficial for both the company and its workforce (Dominguez, 2006) (Dominguez, 2006) (Dominguez, 2006).

Discussion

Place of work refers to diversity of gender, age, dialect, ethnicity, tradition background, disability, sexy & devout belief. Diversity furthermore refers to myriad of ways which are diverse from other values to extent such information, job function, background socio-economic profile of character, geographical location, marital status & whether or not have family or other responsibilities vocation. Diversity is value of being diverse & unique. The Court of standard is made by identifying diversity & great relationship with unique attributes of each individual (Dominguez, 2006) (Dominguez, 2006) (Dominguez, 2006).

Xerox's Diversity Hierarchy

It is said that workplace diversity plays a major role in the boost of any company, if the company follows the pluralist workplace environment than its good for the company. As the Xerox Corporation follows the equalized workplace environment, which is better for the company's employees in the aspect that they get a better environment to work in and in return they provide they better productivity. While, on the other hand it is good for the company as well in terms that the employee's better productivity results in company's good turnover (Eisener, 2005) (Eisener, 2005).

Specific Ways in Which Xerox Values Diversity

The main aim of Xerox Corporation is to provide its employees an environment which is free from the work place diversity. That is why they provide an environment where they deal every employee free of any discrimination and with full equality and respect. This is the main aim of the company to promote the insertion and understand the behavior that promotes the discrimination (Eisener, 2005) (Eisener, 2005) (Eisener, 2005).

It is a belief of Xerox Corporation that maintaining the workplace diversity helps the company in motivating the employees and gains the competitive advantage. The belief of Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) of Xerox can be easily observed in the company's recruitment and other HR policies like the retention strategies (Eisener, 2005).

Xerox follows three components for the diversity management. The three components are sequential continuous diversity, accepting diversity, value diversity & diversity management. Recognizing diversity, first component, referred to identification of reality of diversity or for one person-one differences transmit them to the specific atmosphere and surroundings. In alignment of individuals to really accept diversity, to be revealed to him, know how, come by information, & must develop an understanding of diversity. The second component of diversity at Xerox is continued appreciation of diversity. Valuing diversity as characterized overhead mentions involvement or significance is given to diversity or differences individuals transmit them to the specific setting.
