Yellow Peril

Yellow Peril (sometimes Yellow Terror) was the color metaphor for race that originated in nineteenth century with immigration of Chinese laborers to various Western countries, especially U.S., and later associated with Japanese in mid 20 because Japan's military expansion. Term refers to skin color of East Asians, and belief that mass immigration of Asians threatened white wages and living standards.
