CHAPTER 03: METHODOLOGY

Purpose Statement

The purpose of this chapter is to describe the methodology that will be used to explain the relationship between authentic leadership (IV) and inform trauma care (DV). This section is divided into six sections: Research Setting and Sample, Selection of Organization, Data Collection Strategies, Sample Characteristics, Instrument and Measures and Data Analysis Plan. This chapter gives us an overview of the methodology, which describes how the research has been carried out. Methodology refers to how a research should be undertaken (Creswell, 2009). In order to conduct a successful research, it is essential to collect relevant data from various sources and analyze it.

Research Setting and Sample

The populations for this study will be the care providers for the homeless veterans suffering from trauma in US. Questionnaires were mailed to the care providers during a period of one month, and data from the first 100 respondents will be selected as a part of our sample strategy. Moreover, the limited budget did not allow the use of a web based survey. Therefore, in this research we adopted non-probability convenience sampling procedures (Fowler, 2002). The researcher will email 300 participants of which 100 respondents will be selected randomly. The respondent of the questionnaire will be the Care providers for the trauma patients. The participants were subjected to a condition of agreeing or disagreeing on a scale with each argument what was presented (on the scale), and an average was obtained to reach a score for each participant (Fogelman and Comber, 2007).

Selection of Organization

An organization will be selected depending on the research to study the variables to get a better understanding of the topic. This research will be established and carried out by using a quantitative research method. The project used primary data. Questionnaire was designed to find out the level of acceptance of the Reliance communication in the mind of consumers. The primary data collected will be analyzed quantitatively by using the SPSS tool. In SPSS, the techniques of “Chi square” will be applied on the data accumulate from survey questionnaire for calculating the significant relationship between the study variables.

Data Collection Strategies

Primary data will be collected using the questionnaires. The self-administered questionnaire will be to collect data about the perception of care providers and the role of effective communication and authentic leadership in recovering from trauma for homeless veterans. Salant and Dillman, (1994four variables for using the questionnaire: attitudes, beliefs, behavior and attributes will be given the importance in the questionnaires that was designed. Quantity questions, grid, question wording will be used to avoid getting bogged. Rather than using postal and telephonic questionnaires, delivery and collection questionnaire were ...
