Abstract

Segregation as practiced and promoted by Islam must not be mixed with biasness and discrimination. According to different critics, Islam prioritizes men to women. It is a vaguely interpreted conception as Islam does not prioritizes any gender over the other; however, Islam asserts that men should be obliged with certain degree of respect. This does not mean that they are being prioritized over women. The purpose of this paper is to enlighten and explore the true concept of segregation promoted by Islam. Nonetheless, the paper also highlights the positive form of segregation that is practiced by Islam which must not be mixed with discrimination.
