Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of “Globalization” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “Globalization” and its relation with “Geography, Economics and Culture”. The research also analyzes many aspects of “Globalization” and tries to gauge its effect on “Geography, Economics and Culture”. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for “Globalization” and tries to describe the overall effect of “Globalization” on “Geography, Economics and Culture”.

Introduction

Globalization refers to a reorganization of time and space in which many movements of peoples, things, and ideas throughout much of the world have become increasingly faster and effortless. Spatially and temporally, cities and towns, individuals and groups, institutions and governments have become linked in ways that are fundamentally new in many regards, especially in terms of the potential speed of interactions among them. Globalization, has replaced the term development as the new action word of contemporary international governance discourse. Not simply a term that describes an inevitable process that is shaping the modern world.

Globalization in the light of Economics

The world's economy characterizes itself by growing globalization, which is spurring the increasing integration of the global economy through trade and financial flows and the greater integration of knowledge through the transfer of information, culture, and technology. Globalization raises both fears and expectations. Some suggest that increasing interdependence is good for cooperation, peace, and solving problems. In addition to this, there are some aspects of globalization notably in the areas of communication, media and the economy that considered to be having a homogenizing effect. It argued that new information and communication technologies, improved transportation and the emergence of a global media and powerful MNCs means that the world is becoming a smaller place, local cultures and traditions are struggling to survive and cultural difference eroded. Others, however, argue that economic interdependence is destabilizing. Rapid flows of money in and out of the economy cause losses, increase inequality; and lower wages, which ultimately results in harm to the environment through a lack of accountability. Globalization itself defined in its entirety as the economic expansion of a highly developed country in its economy encompassing a less developed country which causes a whole culture of this country. As well as technology, politics and communities are greatly influenced by the characteristics of more highly developed country, giving an opening to start or grow a culture that is totally alien to this country as there is a statement, culture is a phenomenon that affects the individual who is in contact with the environment or medium in which it operates. Cultural changes have accompanied the episodes so complex derivatives trading and political interference in all continents.
