Abstract

In this research paper, I have discussed Judeo-Christian-Islamic views of one God who has power to control all of the affairs of the world. I have discussed the conflicts of faith and reality. Apart from this, I have discussed the purpose of life according to the Judeo-Christian-Islamic views and gave reasoning regarding the reason for the sufferings and evil present is the world. Finally, I have discussed who is responsible for these sufferings: Man or God?

Judeo-Christian-Islamic views About the All Seeing and all Powerful God and the Role of God to Reduce the Sufferings of Mankind

Introduction

The beliefs of early Jews, Christians and Muslims are somewhat similar. The founding pillar of these religions is based on the ideology that God is the supreme power who has the full authority, command, wisdom and knowledge of all the things, which can be seen and which cannot be seen. They believe that God has created all the bounties of nature. According to the Judeo-Christian-Islamic view, the miracles of God are present everywhere. From the unfolding of flowers to the birth of a human baby, everything displays the beauty of nature. The depth of the oceans, the height of the mountains, the beauty of flowers, the abundance of natural resources, and everything displays the presence of God.

Discussion

Christianity, Judaism and Islam are monotheistic religions which believe that God has the power to control everything. He has the solutions of every problem. He is the supreme power and the authority which has created the Sun, Moon, stars and all of the Species of the world (Catherwood, p.21). However, in contrast, polytheistic religions believe in the presence of multiple deities. They believe that, multiple gods and goddess control the affairs of the world and every god has different responsibility. No god has the supreme power to control all affairs of the world alone. For instance, The Sun God is responsible to spread light in the lives of all people. Therefore, one deity or god cannot control the affairs of the whole world.

Judeo-Christian-Islamic views

In contrast to the polytheistic religions, the Judeo-Christian-Islamic view, raise some important questions. If one God can control the whole world, then why is there oppression, wars, depression, killing and injustice present in the whole world? God has designed everything according to His own will. Therefore, in other words, God is totally aware of the evils and sufferings present in the world. Does He intentionally spread hatred, distress and wars? If not, why is he not controlling and stopping the oppressive behavior? Why is the humanity suffering since the creation of the world? What is the purpose of life? Can God really control the affairs of the World or the Atheists view is correct that there is no God?
