Abstract

Telemedicine brings efficiency and reduce cost, but its proper implementation and risk associated with it can make it a success. In simplistic terms telemedicine is defined as the use of technology for providing healthcare services, when the patient and the medical practitioner are not present in the same area. There are multiple challenges being faced in implementing technology for businesses. The issue comes when a specific group weighs in heavily towards implementing a certain technology. TSC provides a theoretical framework for the study of self-efficacy. According to this theory, the sense of self-efficacy is the belief that an individual has the ability to produce or not a task (Bandura, 1982, 1993).

Telemedicine is a concept which holds immense importance when it comes to revolutionizing the healthcare industry. Telemedicine brings efficiency and reduce cost, but its proper implementation and risk associated with it can make it a success. Telemedicine in essence provided a linkage between the doctor and the patient through electronic means. The whole concept behind this is to speed up the healthcare system and better link all the stakeholders. The risks associated with it are to be wary of, yet this piece of model can have a far reaching effect on the way we look and define healthcare. It's important to adhere with the standards governing healthcare industry and ensure proper measures to come up with a workable model to ensure success over the long run. By and large a mechanism as per reducing risk and enabling everyone to account for will go a long way in coming with success.
