On 2nd September, a shinny Monday afternoon, I drove to the 'Happy Hour' which was being conducted in Washington by the regional Alcoholics Anonymous group. Happy Hour is a name given to the “Alcoholics anonymous” group that meets 3 times every week (Alcoholics Anonymous, 2013). There were 20 people gathered in the room to share their personal experiences derived from the deadly addiction of alcoholism. I walked in the room calmly and quietly, the strong aroma of cigarette struck me as I made the day into the room. The room seemed to very dark, and the carpet had stains all around. The first thought that strikes me was that how well the appearance of the room matched the lives of the people in it. The start of the meeting was by an addict named Henry read the objectives of AA. He was greeted with great calm and composure by the audience. After Henry, one by one everyone introduced themselves to the audience. There was an individual who was attending this meeting for the first time. Everybody wished him luck and wishes him best of luck.

In the first part of meeting, the book called 'The Story of How Many Thousands of Men and Women Have Recovered from Alcoholic' was read out and discussed in this section (W, 2001). The book is also referred to as the 'big book'. A summary of AA creed was read out and after that a passage from the book was read out in the meeting. Everyone in the room had a copy the book and was regarded as 'Bible' by the addicts. The book was treated with great respect and was looked up to with great interest by the audience of addicts.
