American Beauty

Introduction

"American Beauty" is a film about life. About the life of the average American family (and in this case is absolutely not important - it is the American family, English, French, Russian or even any) of the problems that have each member of this family. The film is simple, and even in some sense trivial. Frankly, the beginning of the picture is quite sad feeling. It is another tearful story about husband, wife, their daughter, suffering from loneliness and lack of understanding, as well as their neighbors and little "wrapped" by a guy haggling drugs and are constantly engaged in voyeurism with his camcorder, and about his father is a retired colonel who hates homosexuals so much that he immediately begins to suspect a latent tendency to pederasty (McCarthy, 1999).

Discussion

In lateral sense the film is about the family and whole film revolves around the shooting scene. The film is about it. The only shot he did not like the usual shoot tearful stories. He does not press a tear. He just talks about life, about the simple and rather unfortunate people, it shows - that they feel the dream, and that with them, after all, happens. Lester, Carolyn and their daughter Jane, the second family: his father, Colonel, silent mother and their son Ricky. All these people were deeply unhappy, individually, each in solitary confinement. Here, long ago there is no love, no trust, no mutual respect and support. Here, reign brutal cold and cruel to the people closest daughter hates parents, ashamed of his father, wants to get rid of it (even in jest, but nonetheless), my wife hates my husband; my husband hates his wife, job and his life (Lyman, 2000). In another family the same thing: trying to save his father's son, to protect it from error, while down on him all his brutality and his ...
