Introduction

One of the notable needs of a human being relates to the basic necessities of life such as sleeping, eating and drinking. According to the famous author Jib Fowels one of the most attracting psychological appeals relates to the reactions of how consumers perceive different advertisements. He emphasized tremendously on food and drinks. Fowels states “the art of photographing food and drink is so advanced; sometimes these temptations are wondrously caught in the camera's lens”. One of the well known facts is that ads manipulate the minds of consumers. It is also possible that two or even more ads can have the same message and impact of the mind of the customers. The advertisements I have focused on this paper relates with our life every day. The following two advertisements are commonly seen by customers, and it is because of this that people are deceived through these advertisements (Fowles, pp.7-88)

7UP

In this paper, my first focus is on the advertisement of 7UP, the whole ad is extremely refreshing and attracts people towards the product. In the advertisement the background shown is white as well as the product is also of the same color, this whiteness shown in the ad depicts the freshness one can attain through the product. The half standing of the bottle in a slice of lemon shows the specification of the product as it contains elements of lemon. The photography in the advertisement showing the bottle lifted from a higher place, the camera captured the product while it is drowning into a lemonade shape. The ad further shows lemonade shape which is refreshingly, and is made from the extracts of the liquid that is inside the bottle. Also, there is a splash around the product, and there is the bottle of the 7up drink cold and invitingly. ...
