Introduction

Tattooing is becoming more common in teenagers and especially younger than seventeen year old. Age is very important in decision making and especially regarding serious and lifelong issues a person is not allowed to take any decision before he attained a legal age of eighteen years for making any decision for his life. Tattooing is very risky; therefore, it is the responsibility of parents to prevent their child from any such activity, which is harmful for them. Tattoo is a permanent body mark, which can create problem for the child in their future life and career (Kimmel, 2005). Seventeen year is considered as an age when a teenager is going through the process of becoming an adult and begins to make decisions in his life, but anyone younger than seventeen years old should not be allowed to get a tattoo. There are a number of different social and psychological aspects associated with tattooing and this creates problems for these children in their careers. This also affects their personality and develops a negative image in the society. Apart from the health risks, children also involve in the criminal and other harmful activities. There are various reasons to prevent young people from tattooing and that how tattooing at young age can result in various negative aspects in life.

One of the main reasons that tattoos must not be allowed to younger than seventeen years is that, it involves various risks associated with the health. Tattoos can cause infection and other skin problems (healthguidance.org). It also includes chance for getting HIV as in most of the conditions there are used needles and these are the major risk factors associated with the health and life (Ozer, 2012). Another problem with the tattoos is that in case of any skin allergy or problem with the areas under tattoos cannot be easily diagnosed (healthguidance.org). Permanent tattoos are a major concern for the health issues because in most of the cases it becomes very difficult to remove these tattoos and when teenagers use unhealthy and wrong methods for removing these tattoos the condition become worst. Even if these tattoos are removed, it results in permanent destruction of skin.

In various situations there is also risk of death and therefore, it is a major threat for the life. A teenager who is younger than seventeen year cannot understand these risks as in this children are more inclined towards the enjoyment and taking risks like an addiction (Turner, 2002). This is the reason that parents must be very careful for their children to avoid them doing any such mistake and risking their lives.
