Introduction

The execution of the death penalty is murder officer that demoralizes the country that practices without bringing any benefit to the people. Those who preach and advocate the death penalty or are demagogues who exploit feelings of fear or anger of the people, or are very misinformed, because it is easy to know that the death penalty did not decrease the number of crimes.

There are many arguments against the death penalty and they can be exposed with clarity and simplicity. Who have willingly and meditate on these arguments certainly is convinced that the crimes that afflict the Brazilians, increasing the feeling of fear and insecurity continue to exist and certainly not abate with the death penalty. It is what goes to show.

Discussion

The death penalty is useless. Who says it does decrease the number of violent crimes, is misinformed or misleading the people. In December 1989, the Parliament of England rejected a proposal to restore the death penalty. This penalty has existed in that country, but was abolished because it concluded that it had many drawbacks and no influence on the amount of crime.

The main argument against the death penalty was the information that the United States, where there is such a shame, the crime rate is one of the highest in the world. According to a report released in March 1991 by the Senate of the United States, the number of murders committed in that country in 1990 rose to 23,200 victims, against 21,500 in 1989.

These data are confirmed by the most important organs of the American Federal Police, the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations). According to reports in the Folha de São Paulo, on 16 March 1991, the FBI revealed that the total number of American victims of murder, rape or robbery was over 1,800,000 (one million eight hundred thousand) in 1990. It is more than clear that the death penalty has no influence to reduce the number of crimes.

While this occurs in the United States, where he uses the death penalty, England, which has no death penalty since 1975, has one of the lowest crime rates in the world. It was for this and various other reasons that the English Parliament rejected the proposal for restoration of the death penalty (Berry, 2010).

Immoral Law argument

The death penalty is immoral. Life is the greatest asset of humanity and no one should have the right to dispose of it. If there is no respect for human life, if there is the recognition that life is sacred and stands above any other good of mankind, then there will be more respect for no one will have any value and safety.

Life is a moral value, that the State is unable to create and should not have the right to suppress. In fact, life is a gift given to mysterious humans and is closely related to his spiritual nature. Destroy the life of a person is attacking the Creator himself.

The death penalty, because it suppresses and reaches the highest value ...
