Application Essay

Many professions in the world have their own significance, but I found medical as the most desired study and profession for my life. In the year of 2003, I was a class president at my high school and was very eager and optimistic about my future. I got admission in the highly competitive school, in the United States; the University of Michigan. My core plan was to get excellence in biomedical engineering and premed. However, my goal was to work in healthcare or product development for the perfection of human lives. I entered into the University of Michigan at the sophomore level and proved myself as an ambitious person who has the courage to attempt any challenging task. Subsequently, it was also causing me to doubt my intended career.

At the age of 20 years, I believed it is the best time to change my efforts and settle on a new path. Finally, I made a decision to change my major from biomedical engineering to arts technology. I believed that this decision would certainly join my engineering skills with my love for the arts. I studied different theories of music, sound recording, acoustics physics, computer programming, and film production. Today, I am a junior video editor at Turner Broadcasting Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. My work requires tremendous concentration and focus as there are no chances of errors. Being an editor, I find my work both entertaining and tough. However, there is limited social interaction, a flat learning curve and lack of personal fulfillment. During this time, I found myself getting increasingly dissatisfied and unhappy. I started questioning myself and my career. I felt that I gave up my dreams and tried to find satisfaction from other sources.
