Overview of the Organisation

HCA International constitutes the world's largest network of private hospitals. Hospital Corporation of America runs its global division in London, UK. There are six HCA hospitals, situated at different locations in London. The private hospitals are famous for excellence in specific field of medicine. The Harley street clinic has specialised treatments for the cancer patients. Further, it has a day-care surgery unit. The Lister hospital is popular for fertility & dermatology. Similarly, the other four hospitals offer comprehensive treatments along with intensive care units. HCA aims to deploy modern technology in order to enhance the hospital administration & staffing. The six hospitals need to be connected, in order to share a single data base (www.hca.co.uk).

Hospitals need different kind of IT applications such as medical records management, billing & payment etc. Further, the hospitals have ample of human resources including nurses, doctors, administration staff, finance officers, support staff, cooks, pharmacists etc. Therefore, they need an efficient IT staff for timely resolution of the issues. In the succeeding section, the discussion explores the IT staff recruitment policy for HCA, UK.

IT Staff Recruitment Policy of HCA

HCA has outlined their IT staff recruitment policy in their HR policies. Firstly, the organization seeks to recruit the most dedicated professionals in their IT department. For that matter, the organization advertises using newspaper & online job portals. Also, the organisation utilizes local employment services in order to recruit staff. The executive director is responsible for approving the advertisement budget. HCA follows the policy of providing equal opportunities to individuals irrespective of gender, ethical backgrounds & age. The organisation reserves its right to investigate the credentials of the potential employee. HCA clearly states that every employee has to acquaint himself to the code of conduct of HCA. Further, the staff receives training over the Code of Conduct once in a year. As per the recruitment policy, HCA ensures that the organisation discards the likelihood of discrimination in the hiring procedures. Also, the company requires a set of references from the previous jobs. This is particularly true for the IT staff. HCA defines the salary packages in accordance with the qualification & experience of the IT applicant. The recruitment policy states that individuals, having same JD, shall receive same salary packages. HCA supports its IT staff in getting the most updated training.
