Dismissal Meeting

Ways that a manager can cope with any negative emotions that may accompany an employee layoff.

Informing an employee that his or her job has been eliminated, however it has been very tough issue for the manager to encounter with it. There is no doubt that employee have affected to understand such action if they have a complete control over decision. However, it is analyzed that communication is the key thing that results successful layoff process. When organization facing the restructuring for workforce then there are some essential step that need to determine as an Office manager

There are the following three ways that I will be used in order to cope up with negative emotions that may accompany a layoff of employee.

Communication Plan

First and most important step that I will be considered is planning a communication before meeting. The plan should be focus on inform employee that decision has to be taken against him about feasible layoffs (Barrett, 2003). It would be better for me to develop the general communication document with list the points that will be helpful during meeting time.

Initial Communication

Another important part is communication plan should be at initial stage. Planning would be telling employees of the feasible layoffs. Such like mentioned in above case, development of general communication document with list of important point will be helpful.

Communication Open

This is important for me as a manager that I should make a communication openly but more importantly in honest way. Honest decision making is an important task to overcome negative emotions because it will be known to me that I choose correct decision. Employee may also have some better plan for the worst scenarios when they know about the feasibilities (Paggiaro et.al, 2009).

Communication with Remaining Employees

It is also important for me to have communication with the rest of the staff. Remaining employees may feel that they can be another ones who losing their jobs and May also feel guilty that if colleague may have lost its job.

Describe a step-by-step process of conducting the dismissal meeting.

Dismissing of an employee is not an easy task which is need to done very carefully with the consideration. It is important takes because it just not important for the person who will be dismissed but for those who remain working for you. (Goerke, 2002) indicates that poorly managed dismissal can break the trust and loyalty of an employee for organization so it is not just worry for employees but employer as well. However, my first task which is discussed above is to remove my emotional and aggressive behaviour during dismissal meeting (Lencioni, 2010). There are the following processes that I will be use for meeting.

It is the step that I need to be recognized that why I will be dismiss employee. There are following possible ways of dismiss an employee that are;
