Australian Aborigines

Introduction

The paper is intended to identify the culture for exploring the kinship system of people. I found a Australian Aborigines culture that grabbed my attention and its kinship system also varies on different stages. I will design this paper with the introduction of this culture and would explain how this culture impacts over the society. Secondly, I will briefly define three instances of Australian Aborigine's kinship system affects on the ways of behaving, thinking, acting and living. Furthermore, I would compare this cultural behavior with the American society in which I live.

Discussion Analysis

The Aboriginals civilization is an extremely diverse and intricate culture. It is the most former living culture in the world as can be called a native culture of Australia which dated back at 50,000 years. These people have the ability of adaption to their environment and revolutionize over time. Clans are the small groups resulted by the division of The Aboriginals. These clans generally possessed a common ancestor and they all were considered related. Only dialects were the source by which Members of tribes distinguished themselves from each other. When the first Europeans arrived in 1788, Australia had probably 600 tribes at that time. Those tribes that had strongly related dialects were often grouped together by themselves as being a nation.

Aboriginal relationship of Australia is the system of law prevailing communal interaction; chiefly wedding is the traditional Aboriginal culture of Australia. It is the basic element of the customs of all indigenous groups across Australia. They have a mother and a father to whom they call mother or father. They also have sister of mother who is considered aunt in our culture but the Aboriginals do not believe on it. The sister of mother is considered as our mother also and we treat like her as if she is our original mother. The condition is similar with our father's brother. This is what we call classificatory relationship. The categories of these relationships are conservatory of the sibling kinship. In almost all Aboriginal societies, there are particular responsibilities and duties involved in this category that could be joined with dodging taboos.

The first example of Aborigine's behavior is about the concept of marriage in their culture. These persons often play significant role in the beginning rites of their sister's son or daughter, or brother's son or daughter but when it is the matter of marriage, they can marry the children of our mother's brother as well as the children of our father's sister. The second example of Aborigine's behavior is the approach of talking to some relatives but not to others. They have set particular rules which apply to both class and blood kin in their culture. The third example is about the betrothal arrangements, which is not only limited to the marriage between two person. There is a repayment structure in this culture and it is in the form of exchanging of men or women for their sister or brother.
