Behaviorism and principles of behaviorism

Behaviorism basically refers to the school of thought in psychology, which implies that the behaviors and attitudes of human beings can be changed, altered and molded. Moreover, the theory also states that all the actions and attitudes of human beings are a result of the environmental conditioning and thus all the actions and behaviors of people are in accordance with their circumstances and situations. The theory was originally presented by Ivan Pavlov, and was later modified and refined by John B. Watson and Edward Thorndike, and has been used for training and bringing major changes in the behaviors of individuals and their approach towards life (Jarvis, Holford and Griffin, 2003). B. F. Skinner also played a major part in development of the behaviorism theory and thus led to the development of rational behaviorism. The same theory also implies that the behaviors and attitudes of people can be defined in definite and absolute terms, without moving towards the unobservable and unseen events and processes that are taking place in the minds of same individuals. This approach combines the concepts of psychology with philosophy, methodology and theory, and mainly deals with the mental processes, issues and their solutions that are intended to solve the issues and problems related to behavior of individuals.
