Introduction

The term Boston Tea Party is a historical event in which there took place a political protest which was conducted by the Sons of Liberty. Boston is a city in Massachusetts which is the colony of British. The protest was against the tax policy of the British government and also against the control of the East India Company over the tea that was imported into the colonies.

On the other hand, the Charleston Tea Party took placed in the year 1773. This was the first tea party, and this took place thirteen days before Boston Tea Party. It was also decided that instead of dumping the tea into the harbor it will be unloaded and will be stored in the exchange building.

Reasons for Conducting Tea Party

There were some major reasons due to which both of these tea parties took place. Considering the Boston Tea Party, the major reason was that the East India Company took control over all the import and export of tea that was traded in the colonies. The second point was that if they were paying taxes on the tea then according to them the British will impose more taxes on the other items and so the cycle will keep on rotating. These two points were the major reasons why the Boston Tea Party took place.

On the other hand, in the year November 1774, another protest took place against the imposition of duties by the British on the import of the tea. This was done in the reaction of the British Tea Act. This protest took place in Charleston, when the ship from London carrying the tea arrived to the harbor of the Charleston. Before the arrival of the ship the minds of the entire American merchants were full of the agitation because they were totally against the paying of taxes and duties on the tea from the British Tea ...
